Refund, please.

Today I took two of my girls to get haircuts.  After months of endless ponytails, buns, and braids...it was time.We went to Great Clips.  When the only style your girls are requesting is long and straight, it’s hard for me to justify paying a lot for a simple haircut.Not anymore.Things were going well.  Julie went first, and told the stylist to cut off several inches.  She had plenty to spare and it was going to be cute.  Great.After a few moments, it was Annie’s turn. The stylist asked me what she wanted.  Annie and I had already talked about it, and we thought cutting about four inches would be good.  I showed the lady how much hair, TOLD her four inches, and then drew an imaginary line across Annie’s back. (Her hair was SUPER long and way down her back, so we had plenty to work with)I went back to my seat to keep Tucker company.  We talked and I kept him busy.”Hey, mom?”The stylist was calling to me.  I walked over again and she asked again how short?  I drew a line a few inches below Annie’s shoulders.”Here.”I sat down next to Tucker, waiting.  A short time later the stylist asks, “ what do you think?  It’s so cute, right?”I turned my head to look and my eyes nearly popped out of my skull.  There was Annie, with hair sitting just ABOVE her shoulders.  ABOVE!!!My face flushed red with anger, and it took all my self-control to quietly pay and leave.  Julie, who had seen Annie’s new short hairstyle, was not so composed.  Her eyes were huge and she kept mouthing the words, “What happened?” to me.Maybe you are confused at my anger.  It is only hair after all, and Annie does look darling.  Let me explain.Annie and Julie both have dance recitals coming up.  One this weekend and another in about a month.  The hairstyle is a low ponytail that is braided and then flipped up and pinned in place on the back of the head.Annie’s hair ain’t doing it.  We can get it into that low ponytail, but she has about two inches of hair length.  Ugh!I’m so angry and Annie is, too.  But what to do now?  Maybe her hair will have an incredibly rapid growth spurt by Saturday?I do know that I won’t be visiting Great Clips ever again.  And I wish I could get a refund...or her hair put back on.
